Punjab Food Authority and PRU Collaborate for Restaurant Star Rating Program

The Punjab Food Authority (PFA), in collaboration with restaurant stakeholders like the Pakistan Restaurant Unity Association (PRU), has taken a major step to uplift restaurant standards to international levels.

The Star Rating Program is one such initiative, aiming to evaluate restaurants based on a specific set of criteria developed jointly by PFA and PRU.

A pre-launch ceremony for this program took place on September 22, 2022, at a local hotel, gathering several prominent figures from both public and private sectors.

Although PRU Chairman Aamer Rafique Qureshi was unable to attend due to being overseas, PRU was well-represented by senior members Ahmad Hayat (GM Poet Restaurant), Muhammad Haider (Active PRU Member), Ahsan Riaz (CEO Arcadian Cafe), Arif Khan (CEO Cock n Bull), and other PRU representatives.

The event was also attended by Chairman PFA Mr. Ali Raza Khakwani, DG PFA Shoaib Khan Jadoon, Secretary Food, and the Minister of Food.

They praised the Star Rating Program as a significant step toward aligning Pakistani restaurants with global standards. Through these efforts, PFA and PRU aim to support restaurants in reaching new heights of quality and customer satisfaction.
